Hitsuki Shinji – Part 1: The Japanese Prophecy of End Times and Rebirth

I am Iris.
Urban legends are never just stories—they are fragments of hidden truth waiting to be unveiled.

Tonight, I will guide you into one of Japan’s most mysterious prophetic texts: Hitsuki Shinji.
Written through “automatic writing” in the midst of World War II, this enigmatic scripture foretold both destruction and renewal. It has since fascinated believers, skeptics, and seekers of the unknown across generations.

Chapter 1 – The Birth of the Revelation

In June 1944, a Japanese painter named Okamoto Tenmei suddenly experienced his hand moving uncontrollably, recording messages that did not come from his own will.
The very first words he wrote were:

“This is the Way of the Gods, the Way of the Gods, the Way of the Gods.”
(Upper Volume, First Scroll)

From that day forward, Okamoto continued writing, leaving behind 81 volumes of cryptic texts known as Hitsuki Shinji—also called Hifumi Shinji.
The wartime atmosphere of despair made the prophecy feel like both a warning and a promise of rebirth.

Chapter 2 – Collapse and Renewal

At the heart of Hitsuki Shinji lies the theme of “Tatekae and Tatenaoshi”—collapse and reconstruction.
The prophecy repeatedly declares that the world will be overturned, only to rise again.

“This world shall be turned upside down once—this is the great renewal.”
(Upper Volume, Third Scroll)

This duality of destruction followed by light echoes through the text, forming a structure of cosmic death and rebirth.

Chapter 3 – The Mystery of the Plum Blossom

One of its most famous verses states:

“The three-thousand worlds shall bloom at once, as the plum blossom opens. The God of Ushitora will reveal it.”
(Upper Volume, Second Scroll)

The “three-thousand worlds” represent all realms of existence.
The “plum blossom” symbolizes the dawn of a new age.
It is a poetic vision of global transformation, a prophecy that after great chaos, a new civilization will flourish.

Chapter 4 – The Voices of the Gods

Unique to Hitsuki Shinji is the direct voice of deities from Japanese mythology:

  • Kunino Tokotachi no Mikoto
“Hear the words of Kunino Tokotachi…”
  • Ushitora no Konjin
“This world shall be overturned, for I, the God of Ushitora, declare it.”
  • Amaterasu Ōmikami
“The light of Amaterasu shall now be revealed.”

Such declarations blur the line between prophecy and divine proclamation, merging Shinto mythology with apocalyptic vision.

Chapter 5 – Shadows of War and the Future of Japan

Amid the chaos of war, the prophecy warns:

“Foreign nations will invade. War must end, for war is hell.”
(Upper Volume, Ninth Scroll)

And yet, it also offers a vision of Japan as the center of renewal:

“Mount Fuji clears, and Japan shall shine as the axis of the world.”
(Upper Volume, Fifteenth Scroll)

To a defeated nation, these words promised both survival and divine destiny.

Chapter 6 – The Enigmatic “Stone Masons”

Among the most cryptic passages are the repeated warnings about “Ishiya”—the Stone Masons:

“The world shall become the Stone Masons’ world.”
(Lower Volume, Third Scroll)
“It shall all move according to the Stone Masons’ will.”
(Fuji Volume, Second Scroll)

Was this a literal reference to stonemasons, or an allegory for hidden powers—perhaps even secret societies influencing world events?
The ambiguity has fueled endless speculation.

Conclusion – The Encrypted Destiny

Hitsuki Shinji is not a prophecy that yields easy answers.
Its verses are riddled with metaphor, leaving the reader with more questions than certainty.

Yet within its warnings of collapse and its promises of renewal lies a timeless message:
Humanity stands on the edge of transformation, and only those who endure will see the dawn of the new world.

This is only the first part of the prophecy.
The second part awaits, with even deeper mysteries.

Until then—
I, Iris, will return to guide you through the hidden truths yet to come.
