I am Iris. Tonight, we open an ancient text beside a very modern political map.

Can Scripture Tell Us Where the War Is Going?

An army approaches from the north. Israel faces a vast coalition. Conflict gives way to a transformed order.

For some readers, Ezekiel sounds unsettlingly contemporary. As Israel approaches its October 27 parliamentary election, an old question returns: are events fulfilling a prophecy, or are people interpreting—and sometimes shaping—events through it?

Our October 14 investigation examined restoration, Gog and Magog, and the temple vision. This time, we follow the political decisions: coalition building, the West Bank, Somaliland, and the Red Sea.

“The Ezekiel War” Is an Interpretive Label

Chapters 38–39 describe Gog and an invading coalition. Modern prophecy interpretations sometimes associate Persia with Iran and the northern forces with Russia.

Those identifications are not a settled correspondence between ancient names and present-day states. The text also describes an attack on people living securely; similarities in military alliances do not settle every other condition.

The expression “Ezekiel War” is a modern interpretive label. The biblical text does not name the 2026 election or provide a calendar for current hostilities.

If one detail is treated literally and another symbolically, the criteria should be explained before the outcome is known.

The Election Matters Through the Government It Produces

Israelis are scheduled to elect the 120-member Knesset on October 27. They vote for party lists rather than directly electing a prime minister.

The practical questions therefore extend beyond the leading candidate. Which parties will cooperate? What commitments will enter coalition agreements? Who will control the ministries responsible for settlement policy and security?

Election results alone cannot establish whether a war will end or expand. Decisions, funding, orders, and implementation must be followed.

What Does “Greater Israel” Mean in Practice?

The term should not be dismissed as something found only in anonymous online posts. In an August 2025 interview, Netanyahu expressed an affinity with the vision, according to reporting on the exchange.

However, a political statement is not automatically an approved map, a cabinet decision, or an operational plan.

Biblical territorial ideas, party demands, government policy, and actual control of land require separate examination. Ezekiel 47 also discusses land allocation to resident foreigners; its territorial passages should not be read in isolation.

The meaningful investigation is specific: which actors invoke which ideas, and what actions follow?

The West Bank Is More Than a Prophetic Map

The West Bank and Gaza are distinct territories. In the West Bank, OCHA documents casualties, settler attacks, demolitions, and restrictions affecting access to land and services.

These records concern people’s homes and livelihoods. They should not become decorative evidence for an end-times narrative.

Who carried out an attack? Can residents reach their fields? Can displaced families return? Are perpetrators investigated?

Such questions make responsibility visible. Saying that an event was foretold does not explain or excuse the choices that produced it.

Somaliland: Recognition, Bases, and Relocation Are Separate Claims

Israel formally recognized Somaliland on December 26, 2025, becoming the first UN member state to do so following its 1991 declaration of independence.

Its position on the Gulf of Aden gives the relationship strategic relevance to Yemen and Red Sea shipping.

But recognition does not by itself prove a military-base agreement. Reporting includes an official denial and a later account of construction at Berbera Airport. An airport-related report cannot simply be relabeled an operational Israeli naval port.

AP also reported approaches concerning possible destinations for Palestinians from Gaza. This investigation did not verify that mass transfers to Somaliland have actually occurred.

A proposal, an agreement, construction, deployment, and a completed population transfer are different stages. Each requires its own evidence.

Is Japan’s Media Silent?

Japanese coverage exists. An ANN report carried by KSB on October 19 covered arrests linked to attacks on diplomats and a photographer in the West Bank.

That disproves an absolute claim that Japanese media report nothing. It does not establish that coverage is sufficient or sustained.

This investigation has not completed a comprehensive comparison of broadcast time, article prominence, or follow-up reporting across Japanese outlets. Claims about systematic undercoverage therefore remain questions to investigate.

Ownership and advertising are also relevant subjects, but financial relationships alone do not prove editorial suppression. No evidence establishing a particular investor’s suppression of West Bank reporting was verified here.

Iris’s Reflection: Follow Decisions Alongside Interpretations

Three possibilities deserve separate consideration: events interpreted through scripture afterward, similarities arising from recurring political conditions, and deliberate efforts to turn religious ideas into policy.

The third possibility is testable only through specific evidence connecting belief, decision, and action. A resemblance between a map and a prophecy is not enough.

After the election, watch coalition agreements, settlement approvals, civilian-protection measures, military agreements, and any verifiable relocation arrangements.

These records will not reveal the future with prophetic certainty. They can show who is making decisions and what those decisions change.

Tonight’s 21:00 JST subscriber research supplement examines individual West Bank cases, the legal questions surrounding population transfer, and the distinction between media ownership and editorial intervention. The supplement is available in Japanese only.

Next time—another fragment of truth we will trace together.
I will return to continue the telling.
